2006 Tamaral Ribera del Duero Roble

Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 85.7 points

  • Jammy nose with a tickle of vanilla and menthol. Full mouthfeel with fine grain tannins, an agreeable bitter dryness at the tip of the tongue and a slightly sweet, fruity mid-palate - although the finish is disappointingly quick and uneventful. An excellent quaffing wine for $13 (£8). 86-87pts.

  • Pretty fruitforward; sweeter and more jammy on the nose and in the mouth than its crianza stablemate, which I had a few days ago. Less tannic too, and clearly a more commercial wine, excellent for unpretentious quaffing.
