not normally a pinot drinker. but this is nice big style that works for me. big floral nose, maybe some sandalwood with a nice full taste and medium-long finish. recommend decanting for 30-45 mins.

Lovely red fruit with complex Pinot Noir essence throughout. Slightly spicy and slightly sweet. Smooth. Perfect level of acidity and fine tannins provide structure. Went great with dinner and by itself. This wine has character and everyone loved it. A perennial crowd pleaser and a staple in my cellar.

Light ruby red, almost clear at rim. After 90 minute decant, a sweet nose infurls, of raspberry, cherries and candy floss with rose in the background. Medium body, with pleasing acidity and a lingering taste. Overall somewhat subdued, and while very enjoyable, needs to lay down for a while longer to get the most out of it. Much lighter in comparison to the 2019 - this really could use more time before I can give an appropriate rating. Wait another year at least before opening the next one, and drink the 2019 in the meantime.

Opened at lunch. Dark red fruit on the nose. The palate was dark cherry, red plums, a little raspberry, sandalwood and hints of spice leading to a moderately long finish. Decanting would have raised the score.

Decanted for 45 minutes prior to tasting, and consumed over the following 90 minutes. Medium dark magenta color; red fruit nose.
Wow. This is a big Pinot! Intensely concentrated fruit, deep black and blue on the front end. A very savory mid-palate featuring violets and roast meat, along with hints of tobacco and spice box. This young wine has plenty of tannic structure, indicating that it is bullt for the long haul. I wouldn’t open a bottle for 3 or 4 more years. Lots of upside

Pale ruby. Compared to Southing, this seems fresher, brighter and more energetic. On the nose it offers aromas of fresh red raspberry and red cherry which serve as a counterpoint to the deeper, riper notes of raisined blackberries, crème de cerise, damp earth and oak spice. On the palate this is medium to full bodied, more compact and almost lithe compared to Southing, with relatively bright acidity that frames dried black fruit and oak flavors. This is not a wine for me, but I think it is well done for the style.

Been on the Sea Smoke "List" for many years...and have always liked the Ten over the Southing. This vintage is a deep violet in color The aromas of blue and black fruits wafting out of the glass upon pouring was a big surprise to me....I don't recall other years bottles having such a fruity aroma. This is just lovely on the nose Has a medium body as per usual with Sea Smoke Pinots with a surprisingly smooth mouth feel..The fruitiness continues in the mouth with a medium long finish .......They did a really nice job with this wine IMO.

Felt this was well balanced even in its youth and with so much hype. First thing that hits you staring into this deep amethyst colored glass is an abundance of sour black cherry, unripe strawberry, cranberry, and blackberry for the fruit medley - what makes this Pinot standout from others and asking of its price point is the smoke, cedar, and herbal presence - of which I noticed thyme, rosemary, and basil. Some minerals and nice dryness to it.
Coming from a costal-based vineyard, you pick up on some salt that really amplifies the primary base of fruits. Well done. I will say, personally, there’s been more competition in the PWN as a whole for Pinot production that’s made me question if bottles at this cost truly give more drinking value with the extra buck. For now, it remains worth it as a cult classic for so many going back to its ‘breakthrough’ in Sideways.

Loveley wine that still has lots of room to develop as it “lays down” in the cellar. Dark red fruits of strawberry and cherry give it plenty of fruit. Nice finish. Will probably give it at least another 18-24 months before opening another “Ten” of this vintage.

95 points. Tried the Ten side by side with the Southing before ordering the 2021 vintage. The Ten jumped out of the glass even upon opening. It was unmatched to the Southing out the gate. The Southing took longer to open up but did catch up nicely over a few hours. I’m looking forward to holding the rest of these for a few years to see how they evolve.

Good if a little disappointing for the price. Interesting to see how this will develop over the next few years.
Nose is fairly intense and promise complexity, with ripe strawberry, dark cherry and some floral undertones. Fairly high acid, medium tannins and a decently hefty body promise a fair bit of life in this Lush bit bitey fruit - again strawberry and cherry with fresh minerality.

Too much heat and tannin. Wine is simply too young. There is a muted aroma of oak with little fruit that will probably open up more in time, but today it just wasn't giving much.
The palate is a little better offering strawberry, and some red fruit. Having said that the finish shows lots of tannin (which I know will soften in time) and heat from the alcohol. Overall, there are better wines in the world for the price Sea Smoke charges. I will revisit in a few years to see how it may develop as much of what I described is probably based on the wine simply being too young.
Rating might be a little unfair based on youth but I still feel that I can achieve the same quality at half the price.

Blind Santa Barbara pinot tasting (FermentedBeast's Lair): N: Dark red fruits, whole berries, brown stems, dark earth. New eraser notes with time (a sharp left turn there) and gentle floral notes eventually surface.
P: Similar dark red fruits like cherries, cola and spiced earth. Big stones that almost dilute the other flavors, strong minerals notes.
This bottle ranked 2nd in the lineup.

Cedar, red fruit, little minerality on the nose. Tart cherry, belt leather, slight oak making a creamy, butter feel.
