Color still dark for a red almost a decade old. Cheese on the nose, and otherwise vegetables on the nose and palate. Medium finish. Not bad with NY strip steak. Not worth saving for all these years.

From a 375ml bottle. Color (5/5) is a dark purple that's opaque in the glass and near opaque at the eye of a tasting pour. Soft vanilla woody vegetal plum on the nose (10/15) which is not all that powerful. The palate (12/20) is a plush, mouth-filling velvet plum on a stick with stewed berries and green stalk vegetables. Light tannins on the medium-short finish. Becomes more wooden with air. The fruit and structure are layered, not integrated: not surprising for such a recent vintage. Might integrate better in three years or so. (6/10) but I wouldn't wait that long.

Tight nose even after long decant, slight cherry. Taste a bit pale initially with sour cherry, moved to a nice bacon fat and cigar mid palate, nice ceder finish, hint of vanilla. Nice made wine but lack the fruit of other wines from this area, especially in this vintage.

From the other two reviews I was expecting a dud. I was pleasantly surprised by the wine. It was lacking complexity. Light on the tannins. Went very well with my medium rare Aberdeen Angus ribeye steak.

Nose - Strong cheese and vegetables. Cheese was nearly overpowering at opening - strong like a hard parmagiana. Also detected a bit of marine smells. Odd for sure, but not necessarily bad.
Taste - Upfront vegetables and some raspberries. Midpalate - more vegetables but falls apart quickly. Weak tannins and only a 8-10 second finish (which was weak).
$15/750ml. Don't buy.

Dark with an oak nose and the familiar soft fruit of a hundred other merlots. Still, there is some respectable chalky minerality on the mid-palate, coupled with canned vegetables --vaguely asparagus. Moderate body with a flannel-like texture and a surprising tannic pucker on the finish. Pretty good.

Somewhat medicinal, cherry cough syrup, tar, spice and band-aid flavors with fine tannins.

Opens up after several hours. For the price, respectable Bordeaux. Good with pasta. I agree, a little thin but nothing to be disturbed by.
