Nose was full of pepper, raw meat, game, dark fruit. Nicely complex. Palate was full, meaty with lots of pepper and spice. Longish finish. About the only negative was some heat on the finish but it wasn't a lot.

Almost at its peak. Took about 20 minutes to open up. Very nice wine. Deep, dark, fruit forward wine with some nice complexity and a long finish. Enjoyed it tonight. Would buy again.

Opened the bottle 3 hours prior to drinking. Left open on the counter. Nose: Nice dark fruit with a good amount of earthiness on the nose. Some white pepper in there as well. The pallet starts out fruit forward and somewhat big and plush. It transitions nicely to a very peppery ending that lasts quite a long time. Very nice wine that I would buy again and am glad to have more of.

Very pleasantly surprised as the expected forward fruit-bomb characteristics were hidden beneath a more subtle velvety layer of glycerin. Mid-palate and finish were more what I expect from Walla Walla - extracted dark fruits and black pepper. Roughed out quite a bit on Day 2 but this was a winner. Drinking very nicely right now but no reason why it wouldn't hold a few more years.

great, classis, Walla Waala valley syrah. Well aged, light tannins, and very nice fruit and a hint of spice on the finish. Ready to drink now, for sure.

Very dense wine. This is a monster. Dark and inky in the glass. Starts out closed but after about 2 hours it just opened up and the nose was of dark ripe fruits, it smells big and fruity, dense and complex. The mouth is smooth with nice soft tannins and a long finish that goes on and on. This will improve with some more time in the bottle. I'm looking forward to the next bottle in another year...

nose: light toasty oak, and black olives. neither of the flavors is particularly dominant, though. Some dust on the tail end. I have read people use the word 'clean' to evoke the aroma of some wines, and I think it fits. palate: the palate has a nice composition, with bing cherry, blackberry and a taste of canned olives again. Normally, I hate olives in my wine, but this is too subtle to bother me. The fruit is supple and smooth, finishing cleanly. Not the longest of finishes, but a very well-made wine. I like it. I'd buy more for $30.
Day 2: an element of stale graham cracker has appeared on the nose. The mouthfeel has become impossibly smooth, though the finish is lacking vibrancy. As if the fruit has taken the day off, leaving the elements responsible for tactile sensation to do all the work. Odd.

nice wine. Was a lil thin on the mid palate but after decanting for an hr or so it rounded out. Big tar and baking spices on the nose. Ripe and extracted but balanced. Nice pepper and anise finish.

Wine is peaking. Soft remnants of its bigger Syrah self. Delicious & lasting after taste.

Why not, it's a Saturday night in The Hood; 7/27/2012-7/29/2012 (Hood River, Oregon): Opened and immediately poured. This wine has got a few years of life left. Medium dark fruit, savory flavors, and chunky textures.

Drinking well now, not sure it's going to improve much from now but probably could sit on it another two years.

Extracted dark fruit. Very smooth and enjoyable with an interesrting streak of mineral on the midpalate and a long satisfying finish.
