  • Notes on the third day open. I've gotten used to the 2013's and '14's from Tercero, so this baby still seems awfully taught and firm to me. But beyond that, I'm thinking that Larry has played a trick on me and put Syrah in this bottle. :) He knows my yak-palate and that I won't tell the difference. Honestly, it's still a lovely and delicious wine, but Cab Franc would probably be 5th or 6th down my list of possible varieties. If I have an ounce of fortitude, I will hold my other bottle for 5 or so years and expect the benefits that I found in the older Terceros.

  • Just what one might expect from a Cab Franc crafted by Larry - that is, a balanced, flavorful, pure expression of the grape. Just a hint of Cab Franc pyrazine, as this is ripe, but not so much so that it ripens out the CF character. Very pleasing and easy to drink, but also enough complexity to contemplate as you sip without food. Also went very well with prime rib roast, bacon wrapped jalapenos, and grilled veggies. Really enjoyed this.

  • 100% Cab Franc and whole cluster...again bright and fresh darker berries of black cherry and plum...rhubarb dryness, red licorice...getting a really INTERESTING nose that is fading in and out of like a candied beet salad with glazed cinnamon walnuts...then a whiff of sweet perfume?? Comes and goes...then the wine kind of shuts down...faint herbal sage...really soft and creamy texture with some dusty dry spice tannins...some Larry foot stomp funk...pretty dried fruit florals...such a sneaky little wine! At times seems monolithic and shelled...then it just explodes with life and expressiveness...totally DIG this wine!
