Initially, this was just a test to find a quaffable wine for summer fin times. Turns out, it's a little more serious, even Tavel like in it's make up. And, it's $22 CAD!
And after quaffing this with a air fried potlatch salmon, I'll be buying much more of this for an afternoon patio lunch, brunch, dinner, charcuterie etc. It's really good, for what it is supposed to be.
Beautiful salmon pink color, in a clear bottle that shows whirls engrained in the shoulder and the punt. Definitely an easily marketed wine. If I didn't know Guigal's quality, and if this has a huge heavy glass bottle, I would stay away from it. But, this looks to me like the perfect Valentine's Day wine...note to self! ❤️ Beautiful. And Guigal well made!
Medium Pink with a shimmer of orange Very floral if not overly chilled.
Raspberries strawberries on entry. Then, mid palate, kind of a cooked, that caramelized sugar from the fruit ( like when doing a flambee' of cherries jubilee or the oranges and juices with Crepes Suzette) Flint or that slate or wet stone.
Dry Body light, medium Alcohol high Acid high Viscosity mouthfeel is rather less enveloping as I'd like Tannins hardly noticable Finish medium 30-45s
70% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 10% Syrah
The QPR on this wine, is quite amazing...$22CAD. Just bought another 24. Hopefully summer lands soon.
PS- Drink The Rainbow!

Pale salmon. Ripe raspberry on the nose. In the mouth, blood orange and lime with a touch of red fruit on entry. Goes hot in the mid with some pith, blazing acidity, and high alcohol. Touch of herb and spice in the finish. The acidity and alcohol make this quite loud with no sense of balance. Not for me.

Saturday Tasting at The Gourmet Shop, Columbia, SC 7/15/2023 (The Gourmet Shop, Columbia, SC): I was expecting a little more on the nose, but the rest of the package was pure Rhône Rose enjoyment. The color is fairly dark for a Rose, with tints of orangish red. The assemblage of noble Rhône varietals, combined with inspired winemaking bring a rich, refined mouthful of red berry and citrus fruit. Really full bodied. Touch of spice. Balanced and delightful.

Retailer tasting. Mid pink. Mild, sweetish berry aroma. Very acidic taste, lots of lemon, a bit of a shock. Some pithy fruit, but unbalanced. I would not buy this. [Natural cork; 14% abv; Majestic, £9.99].

Big change stylistically in 2021 for this wine, coming across in appearance and profile like a Tavel rosé. Deep salmon colour as it sits in the glass. Loads of cherry, strawberry, rose, raspberry, mint, blood orange, crushed chalk and peach waft up on bold the nose. The palate is rich and sumptuously textured with sweet red fruits, ripe stone fruit and brisk acidity through the mouthwatering finish. There is a little heat from the 14% ABV but this is a good, classically styled Rhone rosé that will work very well at a BBQ in the coming months. As an aside the new twisted glass bottle and label from last year once again looks very cool.

Peaches and cream, strawberries, lightly herbal. Nicely textured, fresh and flavourful.

Electric-salmon colour. Soft, red berry, floral, and wax nose. Dry, light-bodied palate with good flavours and a tart finish.

Cool bottle, tons of strawberry notes with some lemon/citrus. Nice and dry, darker pink color than almost all other rose’s
