Violets & black raspberry on the nose. Moderately strong if sweet tannins throughout, esp upfront. The violets and raspberry carry over upfront. The violets drop out as the finish kicks in, with the raspberry (and tannins) carrying on to a remarkably long finish.

- Brick color with fast forming legs and aromas of raisin and tobacco. It's balanced and has flavours of blackberry, black currant and black pepper with a medium/full body. Leathery texture with a long finish.

Violets & black raspberry on the nose. Moderately strong if sweet tannins throughout, esp upfront. The violets and raspberry carry over, along with plum. The violets drop out first, then the raspberry, with the plum (and tannins) carrying on to a remarkably long finish. The 14.9% is now unnoticable.

Despite the cute name and small price tag, this is serious wine. We were fans of the previous NV release, and the 2005 doesn't disappoint. The Petite Sirah comes through loud and clear and there's no shortage of tannins, but the Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot round off the sharp edges a bit and make it approachable even now. (Though it should get even better given some more time in the bottle.)

Flory nose. The fruit is showing well, tannins are alive and well. The finish tells that the wine is still young.

Mmmm, the wine envelops the palette. Rich rasberry and cranberry abound. A long finish. Quite possibly the best value wine around!
