  • Loved my final bottle. Paired with steak and potatoes, this was a jewel on the table. Opened for 2 hrs and poured through an aerator, the beginning was cassis and black raspberries. The middle was eucalyptus and cedar, with a side of oak. The finish was silk, velvet, a long lasting roller coaster of ripe tannin. Thank God for good wine!!! Amen.

  • Was a bit worried about how well this wine has held up, but it was still in fine condition. Still a lot of fruit and the tannins were well-balanced. Good, hearty cab/merlot blend. But there is definitely better wine from the region at similar prices (or lower). Unfortunately, that's one of the reasons why I am no longer a wine club member. Lambert Bridge is one of my favorite places to visit and they make great reds, but price point is too high.

  • Opened prior to dinner. 4th of July post dinner wine. Shared three ways. Full-bodied and savory. Cardamom, nutmeg and mint spice trio packed with red fruits, eucalyptus and cassis. Long finish. So glad I have one more to share.

  • not a bad bottle, but not a good qpr either

  • Much better than my last bottle (surprisingly), when I thought the fruit had faded... still a lot of oak apparent, but evolving into a Bordeaux-like red fruit wine of incredible value (at the $7/bottle I paid!).

  • - Crimsom color - slightly dry, but with good fruit. Nice ,long finish. Earthy, not fruit forward, French influence I get cherry notes and cigar box.

  • Still showing lots of oak on the nose, but the fruit is fading, with drying tannins.

  • wah wah - rather bland, just kind of there. Feeling rather confident in my decision to cancel the wine club, particularly after they decided to charge members full list price.

  • Very good merlot / cab blend. Enjoyed 2 bottles last night with Kim and good friends at a dinner party at our house. Too expensive to ba a reasonable QPR. Dark purple, smooth and well balanced. Nose primarily of blackberry and some tar, flavors include black pepper, blackberry, dark cherry, some tar and development of some vanilla and smoke on the lingering palate. Definitely recommend this.

  • Enjoyed last night with Kim, good friend neighborbill and spouse Debbie as part of a blinded '04 Napa cab blends tasting although this is primaily a merlot blend. Very good but as part of the tasting didn't really stand up to the bolder cab blends - on it's own and especially with food very good. Agree with previous tasting notes: price point too high to be an excellent QPR, dark purple, smooth and very well balanced for an '04, good mouth feel and pleasant lingering aftertaste. Fruity nose with primarily oak, cassis, blackberries, mocha and black pepper. Palate initially primarily of cassis, blue- and blackberries with development of terroir, licorice, some leather notes and smoke as the wine opened up in the glass and on the palate. Many years of cellaring potential, perhaps a bit young at this point thus very likely would benefit from decanting. Definitely recommend this.

  • First full bottle we have had, three remaining. Enjoyed most of the bottle with Kim last night with grilled salmon and steak after opening up the night before to start sipping. Very good Napa bordeaux style cab blend, but price point too high to be an excellent QPR. Dark purple, smooth and very well balanced for an '04, good mouth feel and pleasant lingering aftertaste. Bold fruity nose with primarily oak, cassis, blackberries, mocha and black pepper. Palate initially primarily of cassis, blue- and blackberries with development of terroir, licorice, some leather notes and smoke as the wine opened up in the glass and on the palate. Many years of cellaring potential, perhaps a bit young at this point and definitely did improve second day, thus very likely would benefit from decanting. Highly recommend this.

  • Very very good wine. Had as the main course wine with a course of jerk spiced beef tenderloin with Kim at a great Lambert Bridge wine tasting dinner a few nights ago at McIntosh's steakhouse in Charlotte NC. We liked this a lot and actually ended up including 4 bottles in a mixed case we purchased. Grfeat bordeaux style blend, almost inky black and very big and full bodied with good structure and surprisingly smooth. Good mouth feel and pleasant long aftertaste. Nose of oak, cassis, blackberries, mocha and black pepper. Palate initially primarily of cassis, blue- and blackberries with development of terroir, licorice, some leather notes and smoke as the wine opened up in the glass and on the palate. Many years of cellaring potential, perhaps a bit young at this point and would definitely benefit from decanting. Highly recommend this, looking forward to getting our allotment and this is the wine that is making me consider joining the Lambert Bridge wine club.

  • Still a bit on the young side, but softened nicely after sitting out for a bit. Nice chocolate and dark berry flavors. Very smooth on the palate.
