This wine is on the downhill but still drinking fairly well. Aroma of underipe strawberries, cassis, sage, dust, and vermouth. Tannin is completely resolved, flavors of plum, blackberry, and black tea. Nice acidity and finish lingers but is light. Drink them sooner than later!

It's drinking great now... opens up in 15 minutes... very dark, lots of crystals on the cork, so don't pour out the last little bit as it will have the tartrate crystals in the wine...good stuff for this wine! Nose - just delicious - some cola and dark cherry and earthiness.. nice! Dark cherry, light berry flavors some caramel and cola, with a middle finish. This is drinking correctly now! my last bottle... sniff.

Updated from my last drink - still Dark red color; with much crystallization on the cork and sediment on the neck. PnP, opened nicely and easily. Found tastes of cola, and some dark cherry, had a nice sweet undercurrent, along with hints of caramel, everyone found this vintage delicious (02,03,04 flight). Finish was middle of the road, not much acidity. Overall and easy and pleasant drinking wine.

very dark in color - maroon/brown; nose: cherry cola; rock hard sediment attached to cork like crystals - present in neck of bottle and in glass too; wine has almost no penetration through cork; a little sour, but not too acidic; very tasty; not much fruit, if any; cherry maybe; also, a little leather on nose

There was some sediment and some crystallization on the cork. A little hot when first opened, but after decanting for two hours, it really mellowed out. Was quite good with grilled strip steaks and twice-baked potatoes with lots of cheese and bacon. Surprisingly good considering how inexpensive it was.

89-90. This drank nicely over several nights. This is a really nicely balanced example. Takes a little air for the oak to integrate, but this has some minerality and earthy notes that offset the fruit nicely. This is elegant and almost assuredly will drink great for several more years. At peak, 90ish. Other days 89. Clearly better than the other vintages of this i've had.

Let sit for about thirty minutes after opening and then ran through the Venturi. Great nose of plum and other dark fruit. Nice spice in the mid-palate with a very smooth lasting finish. Paired well with steak.

Dark fruit, eucalyptus on the nose. Although this is surely california, I can sense a bit of the Tempranillo character with a hint of the old-world and medium+ acidity. Finish is solid although it took a while for a bit of heat to dissipate.

l really like the balance of this. Nice dark red fruit, a big dollop of oak, mint, leather, minerals, and chocolate. This is a really nice wine and a steal. Nice texture.

Did not improve with time on the counter or a trip through the venturi.

Nose was not notable. Reminded me of a cheaper, harsher Spanish temp. Felt it needs more time but that it might not have much upside.
