  • I love the savory and slightly funky nose on this wine, and find the palate to be full of pleasing dark berries, a bit of leather and tobacco.

  • We are in the Rotie wine club and wanted to sit with this bottle and see if we should keep taking our allocation or exchange or lower our allocation. I am posting first my take, and then my wife’s. My take - very uncertain about a 100% Mourvèdre as a wine. Nose: Big dark fruits, cough syrup, dark olives. Original taste - Cough syrup, dark olives and blackberries. In subsequent glasses, the wine became gamey, spicy, big but not great depth. This is a unique stand alone offering. Would likely go with 1 of a 2 bottle allocation. Susan - Nose, dark fruits, bramble, earthy, very good overall nose. Likes the taste a lot. Not certain if allocation should be 1 or 2 bottles.

  • Tasting at Rotie Cellars (SoDo, Seattle WA): With this wine, the smokey note is a benefit as it really plays into what I love from Mourvedre. There is a rich, meat quality to the nose along with licorice, black cherries, raspberries, violets, chocolate nibs, and savory herbs. The Full bodied feel is balanced and brawny with medium acidity and silky, medium tannins. This is a delicious Mourvedre and one that shows off why I am a fan of this grape in Washington.
