  • Restaurant bottle. This is a cracker. So well balanced and has a lovely mineral texture. Only a touch of RS to what is otherwise dry and long. There is tension in this which is super appealing. Need to try again and with a few years development on it.

  • This is a classy Gruner from Wachau. Lots of white pepper, stone fruit, tropical, melon, fresh and ripe, long finish, excellent balance.

  • My 600th unique wine noted on CellarTracker!

… and what a surprising one this was. Only having tried a Gelber Muskateller from Knoll and seeing this at 13.5% ABV, I was expecting some very closed, powerful, bitter and dry Riesling - but I was completely wrong!

Both nose and palate were super inviting and so amazingly fresh and fruity with an insane mineral core. Unripe pineapple, white peach, green apple, greengage, gooseberry, unripe mango, passion fruit and then there’s a really insane lemon/lime juice acidity and tartness. Crushed chalk and wet stone mixed with a slight herbalness and a hint of petroleum.
The beautiful and sharp acidity together with the slight tropical sweetness and the piercing minerality while you cannot feel the alcohol was just perfectly in balance.

Not sure if this enters a dumb-phase but it drinks so lovely now.
