I recall thinking this is a pretty bottle and avoiding it because I thought you’re paying for the label artwork. I was wrong. This is actually a really good champagne. Drinking much better than last time (maybe a year ago?). I actually think this a good value, despite the 3 figure price tag. The
The 2014 iteration of Belle Epoque is a light golden blend of 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier. Sporting a brisk tiny bead and creamy, vibrant mousse, it delivers an aromatic array of honeycrisp apples, Anjou pears, white peaches, marzipan, brioche and jasmine. The flavors mirror the nose, packaged in a racy, medium-to-full-bodied frame. Dense in the middle and lengthy on the mineral-laden back end, Perrier-Jouët has knocked it out of the park with this impressive tête de cuvée. Well-cellared bottles should age gracefully. Drink now-2039.

bright straw with gold hue, vibrant fine bubbles. ripe stone fruits, some herbals and tropical fruits. some brioche, juicy and a concentrated core with a little sweetness. creamy and smooth texture, firm and solid acidity forming a strong backbone, make this vintage one different from the NV brut. long finish with fruity and mineral notes. a beautiful sparkling.

Belle Epoque has always been a favourite of mine. I’ve never understood why it’s often considered inferior to the other big house prestige cuvées, like Dom P, Comtes de Champagne etc.
50 % Chard, 45% Pinot N, 5% Pinot M.
Great champagne in a light, charming and elegant style. Creamy mouthfeel. Lots of flowers, iodine, chalk and lemon. Very long. I’ve ordered more!

I have always been a fan of this cuvée. It does not get the high notes from critics like Dom, Cristal and the top Grower, but at the table it always delivers. Made in a crowd pleasing style with overt brioche, citrus elements and white flowers. Elegant and fresh, so it pleases a sophisticated palate as well. Excellent showing of the racy 2014 vintage.

shockingly good compared to past vintages of this I've had. I have no idea what the cepage of this is, but it seems pinot heavy - lots of ginger and cherry. But despite the pinot-esque power, its still chalky and fresh. Some oak here, but not too much.

Kicking-off #champagne2023 with this energetic, graceful & massive champagne from Perrier-Jouët - must have been at least a handful of years since I had it the last time. Lively perlage stemming through an almost greenish & straw-golden & hazy appearance. Nose brings about white flowers (what else to expect?), citrus, peach & apples with some backbone grapefruit adding to the complex aromas. Palate is full-bodied, almost explosive in style with flavours a p nose, added tropical touch, lovely structure & persistent!

Tasting session. Another good showing of this. Expressive and complex nose. Chardonnay led aromatics, lemon peel, white flowers and autolytic notes.

Super fresh, easy going, notes of brioche and white flowers. Elegant and racy. Hard to keep in the glass so to speak.
