Opened and let breather >1 hour. Hints of minerality, wet stone & gravel but still the needed components for a great Chardonnay. Powerful and overshadowed a 2012 Figgins Red and a 2015 Ayoub Mojo. Didn't drink it with the lasagna but was the unanimous choice of the evening.

Out of magnum, liquid sunshine. Maybe if I'm quibbling I miss a little acidity in this bottle that some of my favorite Aubert chards can hit, but this was no slouch at all, and much loved by the dinner party.

Texturally and visually dense but nice acidity to keep it fresh. Honey, stone fruit, oak and mineral. Expressive but not cohesive at the moment. Give it five years.

This is unbelievable California chardonnay. If anything it's a little young. Decanted an hour before, was still rocking at hour 5. Phenomenal nose, so much going on, think top end Montrachet. White stone fruit, minerality, oak, underlaid by honeysuckle. Rich rich rich.

Wow!! Incredibly silky in your mouth. Full bodied. Smells of lemon on the nose. A pleasure to drink. Decanted and enjoyed over 3ish hours. An absolute treat.

My first Aubert allocation and Powder House was the offering. This journey has me reaching for whites more often so the timing was perfect. I've asked peers on this site what is their personal favorites and most have mentioned Lauren or other bottlings. So if this is entry level I cannot wait to explore additional vineyards.
Treatment started with a splash pour into a Zalto Water Carafe which I love using for a decanter. About 30 minutes ox before a couple of Josephine No 1 made there way over to the table next to bowls of homemade seafood bisque.
First impression, this is delicious! If this is the start pack I guess I'm all in when the next drop hits in the inbox. I would easily score this a 94 wine out of the gate. So much depth in mouthfeel and the flavors at different temperatures is intoxicating. Yummy!
I can only image what time does for these wines. Geez, I'm in!
Decanted 4 hours, this is way too young. It did open up a bit with a heavy dose of sulfur (matchstick). enough I looked up Powder House vineyard as maybe it was due to gun powder. I like this note on chard, but this was heavy and more than any other Aubert I have had before. Classic Aubert with a great balance of weight and precision with the oak and butter. all well balanced, with grapefruit, peaches, and touch of lanolin. Needs 5 more years, but this is no where near my favortite Aubert SV wine
Maybe I drank it too soon, but this didn’t wow me the way the Aubert CIXs I’ve had did. This was a quite good CA Chardonnay hitting all the usual notes but not the spectacular explosion that the CIX was

My first Aubert and feeling glad I have 3 more bottles of this to enjoy. White peach immediately on the nose; crushed stone, hints of honey, custard, on the palate. Mouth coating glycerol mouthfeel. Thoroughly delicious now and look forward to further development.
This needs time. Decanted for 2 hours then consumed over the following 2 hours. Notes of almond, vanilla and some citrus. Compact on the plate, structured to age. This should get better, its a bit tight at the moment, but all the elements are there to be great.

Gun powder, peach and flint in the nose, with a hint of vanilla and peach as it warms up and gets some more air. On the palate it's creamy with even more gun powder and flint, paired with lemon and lime, peach, vanilla, butter and the loveliest menthol notes. Minerality is the main player here, with the fruit taking the back seat. High acidity and incredible length, that keeps on giving for well over a minute, evolving from bitter lemon to peach and then finishes off with a buttery, honey-like cream. Young, but already amazing.

This one needs some time to integrate better I think. Underlying deliciousness but a lot of barrel characteristics coming through right now.
