  • Wish I had had the patience to wait to open this. Just too young I think. Has that (unlit) Marlboro Lights aroma that I've noticed only once before - also on an Aglianico - yes, so tobacco, pine, plum, quite sandy tannins. Just needs to settle down a bit.

  • Bought at supermarket in Naples for EUR 25 and Pnp with dinner at home and plenty of great cold cuts. Have had a few bottles of the 2007 Riserva previously but find this just as good. Medium garnet with thin clear rim. Plenty of earth, some wood spices and nice medium body of fruit. Showing already an excellent balance, in one or two years the touch of oak should be fully integrated. Medium (-) tannins. Short to medium finish. Very pleasant to drink now but probably best starting 2024/2025. 90-91
