This is the real deal, but it's definitely keeping its card close to its chest right now. Fresh, concentrated, focused, and serious. I personally really enjoyed it at this stage, especially on day two, but I would bet on it giving much more pleasure a few (several?) years from now.

I am hard pressed to say whether I prefer this year or the 2020 I had a few months ago. I’d have to give this the edge for now because it expresses more of the femininity of “the Queen of Beaujolais”. It’s not a big difference though : this wine still has the red fruit, garden store herbaceous quality, a touch of gaminess that the other had. The 2020 is slightly more in your face and assertive; this 2021 is slightly more subtle and indirect. They’re both delicious now but could age and improve for quite a while. Love these wines. Score: 93. Relative to expectations: +++

Dinner at D Cuisine (Chicago, IL): This is one of the better gamays I've tasted (mind you, this is a massive handicap because I genuinely believe Philip the Bold was right). There is but a very light touch of gamay sucralose, but otherwise this is weighty and drinks like a proper red wine. Dark complexion, leathery, and just a very light hint of barnyard.
Fresh cut raspberry and stems on the nose. On the palate, bright slightly tart black cherry then some earth and raspberry stems which turns savory with a streak of salinity towards the finish. An incredibly well balanced and delicious wine which completely over performs for the tariff.
Having had recent vintages (17-21), I prefer the 19 and this 2021 the most.

Fresh, lively aromas as if you were standing in the middle of a raspberry patch, lead to bright, silky, black cherry flavors with an earthy, herbal edge that turns minerally on the long, lingering finish.
