  • Pomarium represents the more muscular style of Pinot Noir at Peay. The artistry and balance achieved by winemaker Vanessa Wong are quite impressive. We shouldn't be surprised given her pedigree of making wine at Peter Michael, Lafite-Rothschild and Domaine Jean Gros in Vosne-Romanée.

Wine Advocate and Lisa Perrotti-Brown's The Wine Independent think this is one special Pinot Noir. Jeb goes a step further and believes it is as close to perfect as you get!

"The 2021 Pinot Noir Pomarium. is packed with notes of black cherry liqueur and kirsch, pure ripe fruit, a touch of sage, and sweet earth. It’s more grounded and muscular, with ripe, broad tannins, and has great depth as well as a grounded nature, with good fruit throughout. Drink over 2026-2046."

  • Excellent wine! Same notes as last night.
Plan to savor the few more left in the cellar, especially the magnum over a couple of years.

  • Nose of stewed plums, pepper and baking spices. Very restrained on the palate. Well integrated tannins, cherries, cedar, and hints of black pepper.
    It’s nuanced and powerful in a sense…
