n: violet, hot, squid ink p: opens cheap fruity flat and evolves to tertiary notes of baking spice and roundness. med+ body and 14.1% makes it feel heavier. cherry wood and decent finish. possibly perfect timing in terms of fruit=wood. less tannin and less alcohol and this would be a home run

Aromas of Pinot funk and red berries. The palate follows the nose with the fruit showing its age and there’s a slight bitterness on the swallow. Medium- bodied with medium acidity and moderate length. Alcohol pokes out just a touch. I don’t see a reason to hold; drink now.

Served blind by PinotLui. Nice perfume of ripe red berries and minerals on the nose, so I’m thinking it’s from a warmer vintage. A consistent, but mild streak of alcohol on the palate gives it away as new world (thinking 13.5-14%, at least). Comes across as Sonoma or Santa Barbara, but leaning towards Sonoma.
Super cool reveal. Fun bottle! Could benefit from more cellaring.

Age is very evident on the nose, but the taste holds up OK, not sure I would ID as a Pinot if blind, however.

Solid, if not as interesting as the main bottling.
