Excellent.

  • What makes this wine great is the incredibly strong aroma that lingers for hours even from an emptied glass. That alone is evidence of the amount of nectar present here. Unfortunately, the acidity was on the edge of tolerable - for me still OK, but my wife refused to participate. Good match to fatty roasted salmon. Speaking of ageability I really don't know. Not long ago I had a similar creation by Huet aged for 11 years, and it seemed untouched by time. Probably after 50 or more years, there would be some notable changes, but I am not sure.

  • I had the pleasure of an earlier vintage of this exact wine and I think I prefer a few years on it. I am an acid head but it was too much even for me. Exquisite flavors underneath if you could get past the teeth searing.

  • 92-93. 金桔,high acid, lemon, grapefruit, lots of green plant notes with minerals, hint of sweetness. Balanced and smooth on the palate, medium full body with good richness. Very well made but not my favorite flavor profile

  • Pale gold. Nose of fresh orchard fruit, diesel, wet stone, lime, hints of ginger. Layers of crisp grapefruit, white peach, nectarine, and buzzy petrol on the tongue with scintillating acidity and blade-like spine. Longer finish of citrus, grass, and stone. Lovely with shrimp scampi over orzo. Young and delicious.

  • Clear yellow colour. Nose is mineral but at the moment still somewhat closed, with notes of white peaches, pears, citrus, oyster shells, wet stone and just a touch of honey. Mouthfeel is bone dry, mineral, full bodied, still slightly closed with pungent acidity and notes of lemon curd, white peaches, citrus and apples, with a long, mineral finish.

This is a just gorgeous chenin blanc with lots of power and a steely acidity to keep it all in place. Still a little restrained, and will probably open up more with some more time.

  • Decanted with spin and it opened after an hour. Vacuvin’d the rest and same results on day 2 and day 4. Medium yellow-gold color. Banana, wax, melon, hint of apricot on the nose. Grapefruit, melon, wax on a juicy palate with 35-40 sec finish. Before it opened it was somewhat watery and bitter, so definitely give this the air it deserves before serving. I can see this one really improving with age. Pairs great with roasted chicken right now.
