  • This bottle had high levels of brettanomyces infection that was off-putting and undrinkable. It hit first on the nose with a strong barn yard/animal funk followed by a palate lacking in any syrah/petite syrah fruit characteristics tending toward a leathery, medicinal, animal funk. Any contributions from the Malvasia were absent as well. Tannins really stood out and sucked away any moisture in your mouth.

  • 13.6% alcohol; a blend of 85% Syrah, 10% Durif, and 5% Malvasia Bianca; fast legs, brown on vermillion; nose of flowers (Sharon) and dark sugar (Glenn); tasted at room temperature, medium body, not quite ripe blackberries and raspberries, dark caramel, flower blossoms; long finish with sourness prominent; pair with sweet deserts, like ice cream
