As previous commenter said — Pineapple, lemon zest and a sharp component. All very tight and acidic, with notes of unripe green apples all mellowed out by a very light touch malo. It's a stylistically very different chardonnay than anything on my tasting trip so far. I like it a lot. It's like a cold vintage chablis.
I think this will last a decent amount of time.

  • New Zealand Trip; 2/10/2024-2/24/2024: Light yellow. Fragrant underripe pineapple and a dash of herbs on the nose. Medium+ weight. Seamless glycerine feel with some oak and butteriness. Deep pear, citrus, and pineapple with bright acidity. Some finishing astringency. Although the cooperage has a lighter touch than in many Chardonnays we’ve tasted, it still detracts from the overall impression created by this otherwise excellent wine. A question of preference rather than quality.
