  • With K at home at dinner (apple risotto). Fine gold color. Great legs. Very complex nose. Smells more like a winery than any other wine I've ever had. On the palate, appley, oaky flavors with a lush, creamy oaky flavor. Really extremely impressive. Confirms for me once and for all how truly ascendant Navarro chardonnays are. They are amazingly consistently great. And they last! Crisp, lively acidity will keep this wine alive for many more years. One of California's best. 5-13-17-8: 93/100.

  • With K at dinner (lamb) at Chez Panisse on the eve of K's 31st birthday. Pretty yellow-gold. Aromatic, attractive winey nose. Green apple, vanilla aromas. On the palate, initially crisp and lemony fruit, then creamy oak and vanilla in the finish. Great. 5-12-17-8: 92/100.
