Tasting this on its own it came off as a bit rustic and mature which was fine. With some pizza, I was shocked how well they both complemented each other. Funny how a simple wine can go so well with simple food.

A little raisiny on opening, but that actually improved with air. This was doing nicely, perhaps on the downswing. Finish was medium/med-+, palate was somewhat complex with herbs, and the bitter cherry was front and centre too.

I had the pleasure of visiting their facility back in 08, and was impressed with care they take. We opened up this bottle for three hours and enjoying the powerful but easy tasting wine this matured into. Full body with a chocolate and sour cherry taste.

Decant as there's lots of sediment in the bottle. This is ready to drink. A richer, weightier style Brunello; much fuller bodied than expected. Dark purple color with crimson edges. Dark berries, black cherry, some vanilla and spice with the characteristic Tuscan earthiness throughout. Solid finish. Should drink well for another two to three years.

Impressive...it's got a lot of stuffing and after being open a couple hours in the bottle (no decant) it's gained additional complexity. There's lots of life left in this one, and it's still displaying a whole lot of Sangiovese cherry fruit along with some flowery aromas (rose?) and a good bit of spice, maybe from the oak. Went well with rib steak, as expected. Happy to have it, and it should go for another few years easily but is certainly good now.

Lacking in interest. Smooth, bright red fruits and ample acidity. Rather modern and easy to drink. But nothing to really hold my interest. At $10 it was a fair buy, but I'd be pissed if I paid retail.
Popped and poured; medium bodied. Lots of fruit and vanilla on the nose. Cherris and anise and a slight hint on the palate, smooth finish unlike any Brunello I have had in the past.

Poured through vinituri and decanted 1-2 hours. Poured from decanter through vinituri into glass. Yeah, this is going to need a decant if you're going to drink it any time soon. Red fruit, mostly cherry, chocolate, some oak. Lacking a bit in body, a little hot (14%). Very good wine but not Great and overpriced at the full retail ($75+/-). Priced right, though not a bargain, at the $49.99 I paid.

This wine was closed at first, but really opened up after about two hours. Nice big nose with flowers and oak. Nice mouth feel with oak, strawberries and a long finish. 90-91.

Excellent...in a great place. Tart, tasty, more deep and meaty than the previous bottle. Hints of smoke here and there. Very nice. Drink or hold.

Lots of sour cherry here. Still very oaky but tannins are still a bit overwhelming. Think I'd wait a year or so before I go back

Fresh cedar and cut wood nose with fruity palate. Oak and vanilla penetrate. Sour cherries linger.

For the price, this is just an excellent wine. Another one from last bottle where I wish I had ordered more.
