So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030: Opened with an ah so. Cork was in good condition, and bottle full was about normal, cork only about 1/2 saturated, but soft when removed. The wine had a good amount of bricking in the glass, and was fairly light in color. Nose of stewed fruits, all tertiary. Palate was sour cherry and cooked fruits, and fell off pretty quickly as it opened up in the glass. This one is certainly past it’s prime, but fun to drink from this well stored bottle.
Presented as an unknown to the Vintage Wines, Ltd. tasting group. Bright disc. Deep garnet robe with brick rim. Clean nose, showing a moderately intense bouquet of chocolate, ripe plum/prune and smoked meat. Full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity and soft residual tannins. The flavors mirror the nose. Medium, smooth finish. This showing was obviously much more impressive than 5/13/04. The wine was very well-received by tasters, although most guessed that it was a '91 or '92 California Cabernet or a '97 Bordeaux!

Consumed at home with puttanesca. Bright disc. Deep garnet robe with brick rim. Clean nose, showing a moderately intense bouquet of prunes, raisins, damp earth and metallic elements. Medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, melted tannins and similar (over)ripe flavors as for the nose. Medium finish. Drink up!
