PnP, served non-blind over 1 hr. Hasn't changed a whole lot since the bottle I had in Nov '10. Much more peppery on the nose than the previous bottle, with a less pronounced garrigue aroma than before. Nicely lifted full body, not over ripe, but a smidge over-oaked. Ageing both gracefully and glacially. As with the previous bottle, this lacks some depth and complexity that keeps it out of the excellent category. As it is, for ~ $30, it's quite satisfying, and full of life. A good example of old world meets new world...on a budget. 14,3%, thru 2016
Oh, yes, we are open for business. Dark and brooding in the glass, funky on the nose with blackberry and cherry on the palate with minerality and integrated tannins on the finish. Grilled Loin lamb chops marinated in red wine and garlic were enjoyed with this wine.

PnP consumed over 2 nights, both quite delicious. Dark ruby toward purple core, sporting a spicy, garrigue driven nose complete with roasted herbs and a kiss of vanilla. Full-bodied, with generous acidity and smooth, round tannins. There's a touch of herbal coolness on the palate that pumps up the freshness and the purity. Very clean, and missing just the slightest touch of complexity that would easily put this upward of 93 pts. A solid effort and my first Syrah from this vineyard. Drink thru 2015, approx $34, 14,3% abv.

Dark color, deep berry fruit and spice on the nose. Still a baby with dark fruit and a dry finish. Protein helped round out the finish. Nice wine that needs a little more time to integrate.

Decanted for about 75 minutes, drank over the next hour with a chicken and rice dinner. Deep dark color out of the bottle and fairly powerful aromatics of red fruit. On the palate this wine was markedly better than the 2005. After going back and reading notes on the 2004, it seems to be similar to that vintage though probably a slight cut below. A nice amount of Red berry fruit with vanilla and some spice...velvetty mouth feel, well integrated tannins, medium + acidity, Medium+ body. Seems like a very well put together wine that was enjoyable to drink. What it didn't have was any sort of "kick it up a notch" aspect that makes you say wow.
Ultimately a very good bottle of wine, that is well made and will make me order the 2007 vintage from OO but nothing to shout about...

smooth relaxed, silky chocolate with black raspberry filling, but not is a dessert-type way, in a nice way.

Notes from February 2012 sum it up well. Big, dark and brooding.
