Muted, too clumsy to drink after opening. But 24 hours later it showed surprisingly well with plenty of plum and black cherry fruit as well as the typical Paulliac graphite and cigar box. It's maturing well, in fact especially well for a 2nd.

Lightly scented nose of black currants, creme de cassis and new oak. Supple texture, this glides across the palate. Elegantly textured, this is delicious and doesn't show signs of excessive age. That said, it is a little muted. Drink now-2025 90

Light on the aromatics. Black currant and charred wood. Dry on the palate. Nice texture, smooth with bright acidity and silky tannins. Not nearly as good as usual. Hopefully it's a off bottle. 89

Developed a bit with some air but still disappointing, think I waited too long on this one. Pedestrian and flat, little backbone and fruit lacking as well. Probably expected too much from the year or perhaps this bottle was off, based on other more positive comments.

This is my second our third bottle of this wine. I can't remember how much I paid for it, but I believe it was a bargain! Very rich, youthful nose of creme de cassis, black currant and vanillan new oak as well has some minty freshness! Really round and caressing on the palate, this is elegance personified. The palate structure is fully mature, but the flavors are just starting to show some mature flavors. If you like your Bordeaux young, drink up, if you like them old, wait 5+ years. I'll opt for drinking in the next 1-5 years or so. Sufficient tannin for a filet mignon, this is absolutely delicious! 92

PnP'd. Coming along nicely. Medium plus body, very Paulliac flavors (graphite, earth, cigar box). Finish is a bit clipped but that should settle out with more time and if it doesn't, it's still well worth the $20/bottle I paid.

Opened for bottle breath 2 hours prior to the tasting but it is still tight and oak dominance on the nose. Good medium bodied weight with blackberries, subtle tobacco and earth. Finish slowly build up with chewy tannins and smoky oak. It needs more time to open up, maybe a short decanting would be better. A nice basic Pauillac that will continue to develop for few more years.

Unbelievably good on pop and pour and on second night even better. Starting to hit its stride and sure to last many years. Little more lush fruit and drying tannins on night 2. Forgot how much I love bordeaux.

Dark nice color. Still very young so violet colors too. Typical Bordeaux in the nose. Blackcurrants, coffee, pencil, warm spices. Starting to soften up, but still influenced by a lot of tannin showing its youth.

Decanted 30 minutes and dug in. Wow, this is going to be great. The nose is insane now but will only get better. If I recall correctly this is Pichon Longueville's third wine. Medium to full bodied. Fantastic deep aromas of dark berries, garrigue, forest, green olive, kirsch and a little bit of heat. Very traditional on palate with loads and loads of tannins that are very heavy now but should melt into wine in 5+ years. Glad I popped one to get a peek into the future of this wine. A garagiste winner that I will not touch for another 5 years minimum.

Good showing after a one-hour decant. Solid Paulliac stuffing, but probably needs two more years to fill out.

Needs more time. Seems to have all the right stuff but it's still tight and a bit astringent. Will try in another year but I suspect two's needed.

Hard, green, acidic, tannic. Not much value for the price. Almost medium finish, but nothing else there to make the finish enjoyable.
