Again a magnificent work of art by the same old Druet. Tertiary aromas brilliantly melted in this 20 years old cabernet. So sad Mr Druet has stopped his activity.

Étonnant 20ans après. A l'ouverture on est surpris par l'intensité du fruit. On retrouve bien le cabernet et le terroir argilo-calcaire. Évolution rapide après ouverture avec apparition des arômes tertiaires. Beau travail

A bit austere but with nice, cool, blackcurrant fruit, some tannin and good mineral feeling. No real signs of age. Medium lenght. Lovely wine for its price, especially as it came with 17 years of cellar time included at purchase. See also previous notes.

Better than last time. Okay, the fruit is about to leave this one but I still enjoy the mature nose and the stable/pencil-shaving filled nose. This bottle had a little more tannins than last. Cork had mold on the top but intact otherwise. Will miss this wine.

The wine is red with hint of brown hue. The scent includes oak, berries (most obvious is black currant), parika, leather and earthy notes. I saw a review by a swedish wine critic (after I’ve consumed the wine) that stated that wine smelled like a horse saddle and i would say that it wasn’t far off. We poured the wine in a karaff and after a couple of hours the most earthy notes hade toned down a bit and the wine was, at least in my opinion, much nicer. The flavor mimics the smell and the mouthfeel was smooth and silky - very nice. All in all it was a good wine (after a couple of hours in a karaff) and I would like to try i again. The wine worked very well with the food - lamb steak, potato gratin and red wine sauce.

Amazingly youthfull. Packed with cool, elegant blackcurrant and blueberry fruit. Very fresh and juicy. A nice, lightly smoky, mineral feeling after the initial fruitbomb. Perhaps a little short. Delicious!

A bit dirty on the nose. Clean on the palate though, showing red fruit, stones, fresh acidity and a fine tannic seam. Not a really big wine but nicely poised. Went well with Duck and an orange/cognac sauce. Kept developing with time: almost burgundian sour cherries with a lick of Loire stone. In comparison the last bottle was a bone fide dud.

Bit of an oddball. When first opened I wondered if it was both oxidised and corked. There was nothing to lose by giving it some air: the wine responded in kind, blowing off its mustiness, veering more towards mushroom than dirty socks. Yet, it still didn't really shine. Slightly overwhelmed by food. I thought it rather thin and dilute despite the mature tannic structure and kinda wrote it off as a dud bottle. But still it continued to improve. At the four hour mark (pretty much the last glass) it was offering some magical mouthfeel and pleasure. It seemed to have found balance, the wine was in a happier place but I wouldn't have called it delicious. Scratching my head about what to do with the other bottle.

Interesting wine with earth, slate, crushed herbs, and a touch of espresso on the palate. Body is medium-plus with chewy, grainy tannins. Enjoyable.

Bright acid, fresh red fruit. Still young but thinner in body and without the ripeness to be interesting

The wine both smelled and tasted of old murky sea water, a bit briny. Something was definitly way off.

Lovely green pepper / smokiness - a trait I often don't like. Integrated, red fruited, savoury. Good, though perhaps a little hollow.
