This was pretty damn good. There were stone fruits and slatey minerals. The length could have been greater, but the balance between sweet and tart was stunning. Lovely wine. I'll hold the other for ten or so years. Nothin' to lose there.

Thsi wine is showing really well now, not quite to the secondary complexities, but very open and revealing astounding balance with a very long finish...

Blind Night (Enotria, Scottsdale): Oily nose. Smells and tastes of green apples and pears. Light spritz with a minerally character. Good acidity. Supplied by me.

Delicious! Yeah, it’s still tight and primary, but there was complexity and balance. Mineral on the nose with stone fruits. On the palate the mineral carried over with citrus including grapefruit and lime. The length wasn’t especially great, but it worked very well with dinner.

Tonight Tracy and I enjoyed the QbA from the same vintage, Weingut, and vineyard. I decided to see how the Kab was different. While they have their similarities, the "lesser" wine is better at this time. The Kab, however, has more stuffing and might be the better wine in a decade. This shows a nose of white flowers, minerality, and a touch of lemon custard. The palate is much lushier but a bit monolithic with minerals, honey, licorice, and lemon. The palate is tight but full of extract. The QbA is a better wine now, but this one might the long term winner. 92+ points

Very good bright acidity. It’s not especially complex, it’s tart with lime, grapefruit, and some mineral. There is also a touch of floral on the nose.

Nice. Simple nose, slightly floral. Taste is balanced, a nice bit of sweetness, grapefruit, tiny hint of chalk, crisp.
