I was slightly disappointed when i open and poured. It was very tight. Only had one glass. But the second night was amazing , very floral with a ton of flavor. WOW.

I am thinking that this Cab is a 94. I paid $100 for this beauty 8 years ago . It is now selling for $140. Smooth, excellent Cabernet flavor and nose. Wish I had a couple of more bottles.

Multiple tastings with consistent notes. My last bottle. Decanted several hours and consumed over the next 24. Typical Hobbs profile, red raspberries and cherries initially. Great intensity. Later, smoked meats, tar. Drinking beautifully, but not sign of burning out. This is why I drink Napa cab. Sad to see it go. Spectacular!

Multiple tastings with consistent notes. Decanted about 4 hours then consumed over the next 24. Deep, dark fruit flavors, nicely integrated tannins, violets, smoked meats, touch of esters perhaps? Hobbs is one of my favorite producers, this does not disappoint.

From a vineyard above Napa Valley near Atlas Peak this wine underwent a 5 day cold soak and 33 day total maceration and was aged in French oak barrels, 95% new for 20 months. Unblended, unfined, unfiltered and was bottled in June 2008. Three hour decant. A concentrated wine owing to the mountain fruit. Flavors of currant. Seemed to lack freshness. Stayed about he same second day. At $175 release price it is a poor value, in my opinion. RP 90+, WS 88

Multiple tastings with consistent notes. Typical Paul Hobbs profile. The aromatic bite is still strong here, could easily age several more years. The fruit is dark and rich. I really like Paul Hobbs cabernets, although perhaps a bit overpriced. Check out the Napa cuvee at a more reasonable price point.

Multiple tastings with consistent notes. Decanted for 4 hours then consumed over the next 24. Dark, rich fruit flavors, nice balance with strong aromatics. Tasted head to head with '06 Seavey, hard to choose a winner, both wines are excellent, from a similar location (hillside). The Hobbs a bit fruitier, the Seavey a bit stronger aromatics.

Multiple tastings with consistent notes. Decanted for 4 hours then consumed over the next 24. Hard tannins on initial tasting, then softened up after time in the decanter. Dark, rich fruit flavors, nice balance with strong aromatics. Small amount of fine sediment. Typical Hobbs with red raspberries on the nose.

Second tasting with consistent notes. Decanted for 4 hours before tasting. Small amount of small to medium sediment. Nice fruit flavors with strong aromatics. Typical Hobbs with red raspberries on the nose. Tannins have relaxed significantly, but could easily cellar for several more years. Drinking quite nicely right now.

Decanted for an hour before first taste and consumed over the next 36. Substantial amount of sediment with some fairly large pieces. Initial aromas strong with red fruits, red raspberries & cherries. Reminded me of Paul Hobbs Beckstoffer Dr. Crane. Tannins were moderately hard, this could use a couple more years in the cellar. Nice aromatics and good balance.

Had as first bottle with dinner. Unfortunately with seafood course.... Table asked for big red wine and this is what I ordered. Food match aside wonderful blackberry/blueberry nose. Fruit is singing right now on the nose. Palate was closed despite decant. Lots of swirling and oxygen opened it up, but by the end of the bottle... I loved it, but would come back in 5+ years for a real experience of the wine. Great terroir/non-fruit characteristics.

To quote TIMDREX, "At its age it still has incredible concentration and power. No signs of being at its peak."
I couldn't have said it better myself.
