Stylish, fine and perfectly balanced wine of delicate cherry fruit, decent oak, herbal spiciness, concentration and bitterness. Tight at the moment... but intriguing and really nice.

Purchased at the winery and stored in my cellar. Good color, not showing a lot of age. Very good for a village wine. Smooth finish, not a long finish, no greeness. Restrained nose but enough hints of Burgundian earth to keep me happy.

Christmas Day. Vegetal characters on the nose and initial palate - both blew off after a bit. Bright red fruits with spice and floral notes. The palate feels light but the fruit is intense and sappy. Really enjoyable.

Definite brick orange tint to the wine. The nose still retains the scent of fruit, but it was largely absent on the palate. Looks like this bottle was beyond its drinking window.

This is drinking really well right now, without any sign of the greenness that some folks find in 04 red burgs. Of course, I don't think I'm particularly sensitive to this flaw, so it could actually be there. I think premature aging is a much more serious problem with the 2004 reds (see Leroy's wines).

one of the few '04's I've had recently that doesn't look like it was from 1904. no trace of the fruitless, stripped out efforts many other winemakers seem to have produced in '04. good texture, nice fruit profile and medium finish.

Consistent with prior note but with another year in bottle this is drinking even better. I gave it 2 hours of slow-o and then enjoyed over a 3 hour dinner - last glass was the best. This has plenty in the tank to continue to develop. Excellent villages from a great producer, shame these have gotten so pricey...

Had a bottle of this a year ago, and since then the acidity has gone down and it has become very drinkable. Good cherry, earth, cinnamon, spice. Great fall wine.

Pale ruby with a hint of age at the rim. Very spicy and peppery nose. Light to medium bodied. Red fruits esp strawberry, a touch of pepper and earth on the palate. Short finish. Went well with the meat courses in our meal at the Plumed Horse, Edinburgh.

This was my first experience of the "green meanies" in 2004 Burgundy vintage. The wine under the greeness seemed to be nice, but the soapy, green aromas were so dominating that it was impossible to drink more than a few sips. The wine got a little less green with a few hours of air, but was still quite defective.

Pure and crunchy strawberry/cranberry fruit accented with hints of spice and mineral. Finishes a bit short but otherwise a very enjoyable bottle. Open but still primary and not at all mean or green from my perspective.

Tasting pretty nicely. Aromatic and nicely Vosne in style. Moderate body and intensity but quite elegant and stylish. Could be overlooked in a long line-up of wines but did well on its own toward the end of the evening. Quite fresh and little to no 2004 herbaciousness.

Austere -styled, with great minerality and spiciness. Truly Burgundian light-bodied pinot. This paired perfectly with our sushi, especially the oily fishes such as mackerel, sardine, etc. And also the tuna of course. We are going to buy more

This was another 2004 bottling which seemed plenty ripe and concentrated to me with zinging mineral acidity. The vibrant nose featured raspberry complemented with textbook Vosne asian spice and leather. More full-bodied than expected, it came across as bright and spicy with flavors of berries, cardamom, and sandalwood.

This paired up perfectly with the Sushi we ordered. Light to medium bodied. Nice acidity, soft tannins - elegant and subtle. Not a ton of complexity here, but very easy drinking. Some plums, cherries, cola and a touch of asparagus and white pepper. Perfect everyday wine. Not sure about the value proposition though...
Price paid: $35 Would I buy again? Maybe (depending on price)

Burgundy Pairs (Le Colombier, London): Bright and young, intensely stalky nose. Archetypal green 2004, without enough sweet fruit on the palate to counteract the greenness - a lot of those present enjoyed this, but I found it undrinkable

Lovely ripe nose and palate. Slight forest floor, truffles and darker fruit profile on the palate. Some greeness but bearable. Nice acidity to provide precision. Liked this and the 97 served together a lot.

Nice dark red, with pure black cherry on the nose. Focused. with a woodsy undertone, but not green. Slight Menthol note, earth, cocoa, dark cherry and black currant. Very linear and focused. On the taste, cherry almost kirsch like, sweet cherry like candy(?) Firm tannins and a finish over a minute. Great bottle that was obviously is very young but shows great potential.

Bright medium blood/ruby. Lovely young Pinot nose – fresh perfumed and classy. Some said a touch green, but to me more floral, with raspberry, cranberry and cherry fruit and a sense of depth to it. Mouth entry is bright and fresh with good acidity and enough sweet red fruit to balance it. Only just medium bodied, but very well balanced and lively. There is a touch of truffly earth and a good long precise finish. I was really impressed ! ***

popped and poured- very light color, with a delicate raspberry and floral nose- palate is elegant, a little light, with a touch of green (on the floral side, not underripe) and a strong raspberry taste- medium finish- my first 04 and I found a lot to like in this.

Lovely old Burgundy, no sign of advanced age. All coming together for this vintage which is my current favorite to drink.

On opening ice cherruy bouquet, but otherwise light and acidic. 2nd night nothing there. Mediocre at best. I have no idea why I bought this?
