  • Big ripe fruit nose, ripe fruit palate to the point of having RS, stewed fruit, syrupy texture, lots of mocha from the oak and resolved tannins (if there were any to begin with) on a short sweet finish. Meh...

  • I originally had very low expectations given a ridiculously low acquisition cost for his bottle but high CT ratings raised my hopes. All said, this was a decent drinker - medium depth of color and mid weight, struck me as pleasant enough but nothing very complex or special. In retrospect, I should have eased into the evening with this bottle instead of dooming it to faint praise after a great bottle of Jones Family Cabernet...

  • Medium-dark ruby color. Big fruit on the nose backed up with equally big licorice and spice. Initial palate shows a lot of sweet fruit, however a nice spine of minerality pushes in to help cut through the "fruit-bomb"y-ness. The finish is long-ish, and has some decent development. Definitely a full-bodied wine, but there's a good balance of tannins and minerality to give this bottle some depth and interest. Scored it the same as earlier bottle. (89).

  • I can go into a lot about the description of the wine, but I'll boil it down to one simple phrase: It's fruit forward with good mid-palate and has a surprisingly old world finish. And it's yummy. Made for beef. Period.

  • This wine is in it's moment right now! For the money, you'd think you were drinking a top tier wine from any famous winery/chateau. Superbly balanced and super fragrant bouquet of ripe fruit on the nose. It beckons. The wine is still powerful, but graceful and elegant with mouthfuls of ripe red fruits, hints of black fruits and all in great balance. This is when you catch a wine at it's zenith, so drink now!!

  • Dark maroon color. Thick legs. The nose was a potent mix of fresh berry fruits (primarily boysenberry), and volatile alchohol. Fortunately the v.a. didn't carry through to the palate, which was a very nice mix of strong fruit tempered with a pronounced (but plesant) tannic backbone. It finished cleanly with good minerality and more fresh fruit. Everything was strong, but not bombastic. Nice bottle.

  • Very fruit forward cab - slight tannins. Not our favorite due to the heavy fruit that made it taste sweeter than a traditional cab. Heavy fruit masked most of the structure of the wine.
