Fresh. Tasters have been noting that they expect the wine was nearing or past its peak since 2012, but it just keeps cruising. Beautiful, with plenty of fruit and tannins well integrated. Drinking great despite its advanced age.

Surprised how good this was. I thought it would be over the hill and oxidized, but still had some fruit and structure. I wouldn't wait much longer to drink, but enjoy it!

I agree with "bwillias" tasting note on 1/12/2010. Not sure about a few more years of cellaring, but it's worth a gamble. I would open and either decant or let breath for a good 1 hour before drinking. The wine got better the longer it was open.

Incredible. I think the shutdown is over, based on other reviews, and this wine is right on target. Integrated tannins with big fruit. This wine has 3 years left in it, but why wait? Red fruits with mocha and a long balanced finish. You will not be disappointed.

Supple and round, this is a very enjoyable and not over the top Cab from Napa. Needs a few minutes to open up and then shows what it has. Ripe and balanced fruit together with vanilla, tobacco, mocha, and a hint of sandalwood. Caresses your mouth with every sip.

We let this decant for a solid hour before trying it. It had a great nose of ripe fruit and definitely some alcohol, but the taste was very much subdued. It's still pretty good, but the flavor does not match the nose at all. If you have any left, it's definitely time to start drinking.

Nice to the nose. Dark fruits, almost too sweet, were profound in the first glass. Missing were some oak and tannins to round out the taste. The fruits softened in the second glass, allowing the wine to really show its self. The wine was smooth, significantly more balanced than the first glass. Overall, I thought it was a good bottle of wine. I have another 5 bottles left in my cellar. I don't see them going another 3 years, but I would like to see how they fare in 6 months or so.

I popped and poured and did not enjoy the bottle the first night. I thought it was flabby and over the hill so I corked it and left on the counter. The next night, the wine transformed into a nicely drinking mature cabernet. Surprisingly concentrated, with plenty of currant and plum. It was also enjoyable the third night.

Reminded me of a quality Brunello but at half the price. I can still taste that unbelievable finish. With black licorice on the nose, and the same in the mouth along with cassis it's the perfect wine to drink by itself, though I did enjoy pairing it with a mild mozzarella before dinner; which was my wife's meatloaf & mashed potatos. It went well with everthing except the expresso chocolate for dessert. The chocolate overwhelmed the wine, which was the last thing I wanted to do. A real winner, I'm looking for more of this maligned vintage, to me this beat the '01 Phelps hands down. No decanting recommended.

Plenty of currant and I could detect a solid amount of fruit dominated by Blackberry. Little to no tannins. Almost black in color and a very pleasant traditional Napa Cab

Decanted about 1.5 hours. Dark garnet wine with oak, rosemary, cassis, and brown sugar aromas. Silky wine with resolved tannins. Full-bodied, with cassis and figs. Long finish, ~40-45s.

Way better than I thought it'd be. I thought it would be past its prime, but it was so balanced. Perfect. Chocolate notes throughout. Loved it.

The tannins and fruit have settled, but tasted better than expected given the current tasting notes. Still enjoyable, but drink as soon as possible.

Tasty - but somewhat inbalanced. Dark fruits were great - tannins hidden very deeply in the finish. Drink this now!
