Smelled beautiful - cola and some spice - but wine doesn't have much body. Not sure if something was off with this bottle, but for $15 one could do better. Average weekday sipper.

A little bit muted on the nose, with some alcohol coming through. Very creamy texture and taste to me, nothing stays on the palate for long. Dont know the price as it was a gift, but looks like low teens, so not horrible for the price.

Pleasant cassis nose, medium bodied, nicely extracted...but the acidity is a bit green, comes together with some air time. Still, not a bad everday wine.

Not very good at all - not defective per se, just crap...'nuff said, no need for elaboration. Not sure what possessed me to buy this, but there are much better daily drinker choices out there. Avoid in the future.

I didn't pick up much on the nose, but the taste is a new world fruit bomb of raspberry and cherry with a note a strawberry. Not much else here per se. Not a bad cheap drinker but nothing extraordinary either.

I'm sitting here with it now; it was a touch too cold, but I think it's happy to have had an extra half hour in the glass. It certainly is green, but I'm not getting much of the fruit that others have mentioned--just all the tannins. Generally quite pleasant, though.

On first opening and slightly too cold, seemed a bit harsh and underwhelming, with a flavor tone that I often find in zinfandel and really do not care for. After warming up and being in the decanter about 2 hours, much nicer and more interesting, with the offending flavor gone. Definitely needs decanting or waiting to open.

Virtually exact tasting notes from my tasting in July of 09. Still needs a lot more air but I don't think this is going to be a very age worthy wine so drink by 2012. 50+5+11+13+7=86

Bought at Whole Foods. The nose was nice and fruity and typical cab. I agree with prior post, though, it was a lot of green covered by extracted dark fruits. Drinkable enough and unoffensive. However, I wouldn't purchase again. The 2006 Red Diamond Cabernet rocks, and is 1/2 the price.

Decanted for 1 1/2 hours.Tasted blind in a Cab comparison tasting of two Cabs at opposite ends of the price spectrum for a video tasting note on www.pullingthecork.com. Deep garnet with some reddish hues. Even after the decant this was very tight and resisting. The nose was holding back but there was some Bordeaux style funk, red fruits and green vegetal aromas. Medium bodied on the palate with more red fruit, plum, spice and smoke. The tannins were very forward and rough but there was some decent fruit structure and acidity in place. This actually may get better with some age. Overall I was surprised at how good this was but it is still very young and tight. It needs a ton more air time or a minimum of 3 more years of age. 50+5+11+13+7=86

Fairly simple Cab with berry and smooth tannins...maybe subtle is a better word. Great wine for the price. More of a pot roast than steak. Nice earthliness on the finish.

Decent middle of the week cab. Not complex had a weird after taste, reminiscent of some sort of chemical or medicine, on opening, but went away with some air.

An above average Cali Cab in this price range($12). This was quite ripe (but not candied) and saw its fair share of oak, but nothing is overdone. Vanilla, some pepper, cassis and red currants, this is fairly bright and even shifted a few times in the glass. Most at the table really enjoyed the soft tannins and rich core of fruit, though its not my particular style. Drink thru 2012.

I agree with fairynymph (love that handle!) some funk, some green pepper, and raspberry on the nose; exactly what I got... the Funk to me was horse blanket... a little leather mixed with sweat. I decanted this, but my first glass out of the bottle was clearly closed down, not ready at all to drink; very good sign. I'm happy because I'm holding a large format of this wine. As it opens up the mouthfeel is velvet, nice. Lots of cherry and raspberry to the taste, quite lovely, and very fruity on the back end, just keeps going.Twizzlers with poblano peppers. That's what I got.

Funky nose redolent of mushrooms (truffles) with lighter hints of bell pepper and raspberry.
Very, very smooth, understated tannins - but they're there, making this wine nicely full-bodied. On the palate it's just as funky, with those truffles, BACON, and a slight edge of bell pepper. Ripe cherry and plum fruit, though it's restrained; this is not a big fruit-forward style Cab. A little low on the acidity, not unpleasantly, but this is not tart and doesn't strike me as much of a food wine. Almost no oak, either, and no perceptible heat. Nice long spicy, earthy finish highlights clove and black pepper. Interesting and very drinkable; a good QPR.

Tried off of NY Times suggestion for Thanksgiving wines. Firm fruit with complex flavor and body. Floral yet earthy. Very enjoyable, but not overly complicated. 89-91

Nice fruit good cab characteristics. Black cherry on the nose. Not overly tannic out of the bottle, but needs to breathe a bit before consuming.
