Notes from day 2. Dark purple in color. Nose of dark raspberry, black plum, little funky earth, a little vanilla, spice. Palate of more black raspberry, a little bit of blueberry, a little dusty cocoa tannin and spice on the tail end. The finish is average in length and there is good velvety mouth feel. The wine is much more open than it was yesterday, so definitely needs time to round out. Needed a little more complexity for a higher score. Hold. 50+5+11+16+7

Merlots on a Saturday Afternoon: Inky purple in color. Black cherries on the nose with a bit of funk. This has bright fruit, mostly black cherries. Quite primary at this stage and really never even started to unwind. Needs a few years for sure, but there is a lot of stuffing. It should get better.

Dark ruby, structured and accessible. Modest tannins, nice fruit. Integrated and tasty.
