2nd bottle 2 years later. Vibrant. Prominent minerality. Fascinating. Truly in the Burgundian style. The best California Chardonnay that I have tasted in a long time.

Outstanding. Has evolved beautifully. Lives up to its name ("mineral expression of the soil"), as minerals are quickly evident. And the fruit is excellent (Queen Ann cherries and tropical) and not over done. You could easily think this is Burgundy if you didn't know and tasted it blind. Very pleasing.

Very consistent with the last tasting - lime, minerals, a doughy note. Still a little tight and ungiving. Much better than the typical CA Chard but for me the previous vintage had a little more intensity and depth.

Pale gold hue. Nose of crisp green apples, limes, pear, and flint. Coiled like a spring on the palate, yielding taut, precise flavors of minerally yet tangy applecore notes. Elegant acidity freshening the citrus-laden finish. Poised, balanced chardonnay which should age very nicely.

Much better than my last bottle - face powder, creme brulee, lemon and lime and a doughy note. Steely on the palate and through the finish. Seems a little tighter wound than the 2005 at the same stage. Give them another 12 months.

I suspect that this was a bad bottle - it had a strong green, weedy streak. Shy aromas of green apple, creme brulee, a touch of pineapple and talc. A little flat on the palate and finish. A small amount left in the fridge over night showed a little better with a pleasing mineral and steely edge, and less green.

Not as good as the 2005 (but still better than 90% of Cali chard) -- a little more oak is apparent and the fruit is more tropical. The acidity is there but it seemed hidden by other aspects. I could see it mellowing out.
