70/30 malbec/merlot blend. Super dense coloring with ruby to garnet edges. Aromas of black fruits, graphite, and damp earth. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of cassis, graphite minerality, lemon, and dry spices. Great with a steak tonight.

bright ruby; ripe stewed tomatoes, damp stone, black raspberries on the nose; black raspberry, blackberries, strong cassis, light tannins, some whetstone. Excellent.

Dark inky color and first pour through an aerator exhibited dark fruit and a lot of heat on the initial taste and on the finish. Four days later, dark fruit, pencil, and some tobacco with less heat and an oak barrel tastel on the finish. Maybe it needs food to rein it in.

Deep garnet color. PnP through Vinturi: wonderful dark fruit nose with earth-tones and a bit of gravel. Very tannic, but with the fruit to back it up. Opened well an hour later. Bing cherry, black raspberry, tobacco among other pleasing notes on the palate. Day 3 was even better, and much mellower!

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Sue & Mike's): A mix of red and dark fruit in the bouquet, along with an anise/tarragon quality and dill. Red fruit and spice on the palate, with dark fruit on the finish. Develops a strawberry note as it opens further in the glass. Guessed Napa cab.

Very earth-driven nose - a pile of moist black dirt with some baked berries and a dollop of alcohol burn giving it an overdone feel. Nice firm rounded tannins but a bit disjointed as the acidity sort of sticks out like a sore thumb. Flavor is a bit hollow and the finish is short. It's not offensive, but it is a pass.

Huge wine with very aggresive tannins; but with the fruit to back it up. Hard to believe that six years on would be too soon for this wine, but alas it was at its best on day three. Tannins still showing, but the fruit was at least able to compete. Blackberries for days. Kinda feel like I'm sucking on a plum pit. A little bitter. Had this on three consecutive days and I don't think it was appealing on any of them. Funny, I love Malbec and I love Merlot; yet they managed to blend them into a wine I cannot recommend.

Hard to find family winery that a friend introduced me to. I believe they make 3 tiers of red. 2 blends and a 100% Malbec if I remember correctly. All very good but lower ones are at good price points. A good find. Rich and flavorful.

Big tannic beast. Decent but not my style. Requires a serious decant or 5 *years to come around + or so i suspect.
