Deep brick color. A nose of dried fruit and roses. Flavors of clove, plum, mushroom, sassafras, dark cherry, and forest floor. This is a lovely wine just beginning to pass the peak of its age. The tannins are sweet and mellow. Very balanced. Still has another 5+ years ahead of it. Needs an hour of aeration to come together. Decant, for there is a lot of sediment.

Full body. Red brick/deep purple color. Nose of blackberries and raspberries. Dark fruit predominate the palate with secondary flavors of tobacco, mushroom, and cinnamon. Really lovely stuff. The fruit is still very much present and the tannic structure, although not at all harsh, is still prominent. This has at least another 5+ year in its current peak drinking window. Decant as there is a fair amount of sediment. 14%abv.

Tasting Merlots (Blind) in the restaurant Freddy in São Paulo - Brazil.
This wine showed clear signs of aging and passed the peak. However, delighted tasters who enjoy old wines. The evaluation of tasters ranged 91-94 points. My assessment was 91 points. It was among the best wines of the night

Foresty wet bark and organic material-rich soil aromas, as well as chocolate chip cookie and mild coffee. Quite intense flavors with solid acid structure that is well integrated. Unfortunately, despite the acid, the flavors are not terribly well delineated. Finish of charred flank steak. Ambitious Spanish Merlot that ultimately falls short.

Ageing aromas, lots of cedar tree on the nose. Red fruits, cedar tree on the palate. Well balanced
