Dark ripe black fruits aromas. Simple flavors light on its feet with some delicate spice. Meh. Drinkable and not bad, but not a wine to think much about.

Exceptional plummy and casis brace. Been cellared for 5 years. Up against Bahans 89 and performed admirably. Strangely akin to Leoville Barton of same vintage. In window, but good for another few years yet.

Everyone's wine of the night. Acid and tannins still strong. The vintage really carried this through. Leather, medium red berry, slight wood, gravel, old world. Could go 5 more years. Great wine.

Great bottle, almost from the moment it was opened. Perfectly balanced, sweet tannins -- something I have found only with Bordeaux. I let it breathe for a bit (15-30 min), but it was so good quickly that I did not feel the need for more. I have some left and will see what that is like next day.

Aged Bordeaux - fruit was a bit light which might be how it always was or it could be that age has dampen the fruit. Smooth which you expect from an aged Bordeaux. Nice colour, nose a bit muted when compared with an Abeja 02, Tour Pibran 2000. Decent wine but did blow my mind. 88-89

We drank this bottle with rack of lamb accompanied by oven roasted potatoes and onions. We let the bottle stand upright for 24 hours prior to opening, did not decant, and drank the first glass approximately 30 minutes after removing the cork. Nice from the very beginning, and we were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional finish, which lasted well over a minute. Not extraordinary by any means, but a lovely, classic Bordeaux now at its prime.

Beautiful wine! Amazingly deep colour for an 18-year old wine. Nose is very seductive, unmistakebly Graves. The palate is silky smooth, full of tobacco, cedar, cherries and plums. REady to drink now, but could benefit from an extra 2 to 5 years of cellar. What Bordeaux can achieve in such an amazing vintage is shown by all, even the smaller estates. Bravo!

Served double blind to the group at the February Blind Drunks tasting. Decanted for sediment and returned to the bottle. Left open for an hour or so before tasting. Initially the aromatics are a bit earthy, then a noticeable green aroma appears, preceding stewed frui aromas. Light bodied, with stewed red fruit flavors.
