  • Chewy. Great legs on this 2005 which is before current wine maker Joe Buckel. Excellent dark fruit with current and blackberries. Good earth tones with smooth tannins.

  • As mentioned by others, this was an integrated combination of wild game, blackberries, plum and spice. The finish was long and full with soft tannins.

  • An interesting wine. Meaty, bloody, spiced with anise and pepper, and black currant and berry fruit, but more blood than fruit. Light to medium body, with nice raspberry and black cherry fruit. Good structure, and a really good medium-long finish.
It definitely different, and I'm giving it some credit for being different (grateful it's not trying to imitate CA syrah). 90+
UPDATE: day 2: it really brings the funk. This got stinky in the best of ways, like it turned overnight into an old northern Rhone. Not changing the score, but noting the interesting development.
