Dark purple. Strong dark fruit driven nose with a bit of spice and well balanced vanilla. Dark fruit mouth with a lot of creamy interest - spicy liquorice. Nice acidity to go with the extracted fruit. This is a heavy extracted wine for my taste but with good freshness and well matched acidity to counter the weight.

nice deep ruby to dark purple color in the glass. Raw meat, smoked meat, black pepper and gun flint dominate the nose. The palate is also savory - meaty, bloody, and minerally with unripened brambly fruit at the core. midpalate is a bit thin but the medium peppery finish is quite pleasurable. not overly sophisticated but there is a subtle complexity which makes this a bit exciting. I can see this evolving somewhat over the next 5 yrs.

Less tannic than the Vacqueyras from 2008, with a subtle blend from the excellent 2007 year. This has a savory, meaty like taste with a sense of dirt, red cherry and red raspberry. The aftertaste is subtle as well, having a mild sense, rather than being strong or overpowering. This one stands on its own, paired with food or not. Had at Bin604 wine tasting.

Similar to the St. Joseph from the same negociant house we had at dinner; lovely nose, with some funk, good body but light finish.

Refined, with some complexity and personality.
Day 3-4 this is really nice. At 20 euro this is a steal.

Bouteille agréable à boire, mais qui manque de fond, de concentration.
