  • This wine continues to show very bold spice and nice finish. Down to last couple of bottles.

  • Nothing to add to 8/6/14 note. This is the last bottle of a case I bought several years ago. It was a good investment, especially for QPR. The wine tastes fully mature and ready to drink.

  • I haven't opened one of these in a year. It is my second to last bottle of this delicious Rhone wine (70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault). Little to add to previous notes, except to say that this 2007 is in its prime right now. I can't see it improving with more time in the cellar. I'll be sad when the last of these is gone.

  • Dry red fruit. A little spice on the nose. Still great, especially for the price.

  • I was concerned when the last bottle of this wine was oxidized. Fortunately, this bottle is good. Clear purple. Nose of blueberry, blackberry, dust, and vanilla. Ripe, medium palate of blackberry, cherry, and blueberry. Excellent length. Bright acidity. Supple tannins. Drinking well.

  • Oxidized! Bummer.

  • Dark clear purple. Nose of earth, bacon, plum, and smoke. Medium to full palate of dark fruit, licorice, and a savory element. Good length. Pleasant acidity. Mild tannins. I don't love this as I have previous bottles. Bottle variation? Starting to fade? The next bottle should tell the tale.

  • A dark and rich plum pudding experience. Unfortunately, that didn't happen until the 2nd day, after the initial opening it was much too tangy and disjointed and seemed like the grenache was already falling apart. So I would suggest at least a three hour decant if you're going to drink the whole bottle after opening. Plus the nose promises a wonderful flvor experience that the mouthfeel can't deliver. Would suggest laying this young'un down for about three to five years to see if it moves onto something more rewarding. Overall, this southern rhone typifies my concerns with this vintage - with the big sugars and powerful tannins, it's got so many jekyll and hyde changes that one never knows which character will show up in the bottle they're pop and pouring.

  • I love this wine. It is a delicious Rhone blend that could never be mistaken for anything else (see previous notes). 2007 was a mythical vintage that enabled humble Vacqueyras to produce wines, such as this, that perform far above their pay grade.

  • Served to out of town guests last night. No notes. Excellent wine, especially for the price.

  • Opulent, impressive Vacqueyras wine with a varietal composition of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault and 5% Mourvèdre. Aged for 12 months in Allier barriques (30 percent) and in tanks (70 percent). Decanted: two hours in advance. Very deep purple-red colored wine with a complex nose of blackcurrant, spices, tobacco, tar and tones of forest floor. Rich and full-bodied on the palate with abundant, concentrated fruit, a luscious mouth-feel and (already) beautifully integrated tannins. Good depth and a nice peppery/smoky finish. Drink it now through 2015. Well worth the price.

  • Loved the first bottle I bought (see 1.1.10 note), so I went out and got a case. I am very glad I did. Dark reddish purple. Nose of dust, leather and black cherry. Ripe, medium to full palate of dark fruit, black cherry, spice, and minerals with refreshing acidity and youthful tannins. Excellent length. Yum!

  • Lots of fruit, good acidity, a great value in a rhone wine; blah blah blah. I think I would be willing to give it another 2-3 points if it didn't have the same taste profile as all the other '07 s. rhones I've had so far. In this one's defense, it doesn't seem too big or sweet. Sigh. Why do I feel that the fans of subdued rhones of yesteryear have so much to fear?

  • Interesting and tasty wine. Beautiful sweet raspberries, black cherry, and bright baking spices are the highest notes. I can't remember a wine with such pure raspberry flavors. Also has a cola aroma, taste, and mouthfeel that I associate with malbec and am not particularly fond of. Sprightly and generally feminine, with the exception of a welcome leathery, tannic finish. 88

Empty glass smells strongly of black cherry.

  • Bought on the advice of a wine shop guru when he saw I was stocking up on 2007 CdP. Popped and poured. Drank with traditional New Year's Day meal (black eyed peas, cornbread, tangerines, spinach salad, Honey Baked ham). Dark purple. Nose of dark fruit and licorice. Big, full bodied palate of ripe dark fruit, melted tar, and leather. Amazing length. Nice acidity. Supple tannins. A whiff of alcohol. GREAT QPR! Best Vacqueyras I have ever had. Very much like a good CdP. I'm going to get a lot more of this wine.

  • Lovely wine. Exceptional for a Vacqueyras. Very concentrated, but nicely balanced. Drinks well now but will last a decade. Unbelievably lively red fruits for this part of the rhone.
