Some debate about whether there may have been some slight heat damage here, but I thought it showed pretty classic old Nebbiolo character. I don't think I've ever had a Nebbiolo from 1969 before and never a Barbaresco from Cantina Mascarello. Lots of iron, blood, and truffle on the nose, more mineral driven than fruit driven in the palate. Still nicely structured and knit together.
