In the last quarter of drinking window. A Cuvee of 44% Carmenere, 34% Cabernet and 22% Syrah. Very dark color. Smokey nose of ripe dark berries. Harmonious and balsamic on the palate, silky. Some decent notes of blackberry but also cigar plus some sweetness. Nice. Medium to long finish. Drink up.
Very dark. Nose is open of black fruit and red bell peppers - intriguing. There is oak apparent but gobs of fruit for it. Plush feel. This is getting good!

Very dark. Herbaceous, compelling dark fruit. Full-bodied and high in alcohol as well as dark fruit flavours. Oak is now in retreat. These have been 8 years in my cellar and finally starting to pay off.

Previous notes sum it up. Upon opening there is smoke and tar against an earthy background of dark berries. Soft tannins, but definitely structured wine. Liked it. Definitely seems ready to go at this point.

Big, spice (cinnamon and nutmeg) and floral scent with some heat. Juicy, thick, cherry cola, mocha, tar and earth flavors with smooth ripe tannins and a fairly long finish. It settles down considerably after breathing, but remains big and fruit forward with a fairly heavy mid-section.

Notes from a 2 week old memory. Opaque maroon. Over ripe blackberries, funky, sweaty! After airing shows red fruit and flowers. Rich feel and flavour of blackberry liquor. This is substantial with great balance Very good and could be very good in a couple years.

Day 1: a bit of heat on the nose, tarred raspberries, nice body, round earthy fruit, a touch tart, with significant spice at the end. I think this will be better with some time. Day 2: still some heat on the nose, more tar, red berries and cola notes more prominent, some green herbal notes now as well. Palate is sharply more tart, some cola, with a big bang of tartness on a long finish. High impact, not altogether great, but very pronounced tart cherry is the takeaway. Day 3: same as day 2, knocking the rating down a notch as it hasn't opened up as well as I had hoped

Smoke on the nose and tar, smoke, and blue fruits on the palette. Interesting blend (carmenere, cab, syrah) with rich mouthfeel but not too heavy. There is a real sense of place with a wine like this which is nice to see/taste.

Blackberry, loam, and tar. A nice earthiness to it. Smooth tannins. Better the second day. I'd give this a higher rating, but my better half didn't like it at all.

Beautifully inky dark in the glass, it fades to a clear ruby colored rim at the edges. The nose shows an earthy minerality with raspberries bleeding through and hint of spiciness. A little hot when first poured, that fades after some time in the decanter. Flavors on first approach are cherry and achingly tart raspberries. Smooth subtle tannins across the mid palate evolve into a hint of sweetness and hint of blackberry on the impressively long finish. This wine is drinking wonderfully now, particularly after an hour in the decanter. Hopefully I'll have the patience to let my other bottles age for another year or 2.

Cherry, cigar box, tobacco on the nose and taste. A big hit of oak on the finish. Opened right away, appears ready to drink.
