As for last June. Dark and a bit malty. Not hugely developed but clearly not young either. Lots of sediment - decanting would help. Keep plenty longer still.

{cork, 13.1%} No decant. Medium sediment present Still a solid dark garnet, with just a little fading. Remains quite youthful, or at least not overly developed. Mix of currants and black olives. Restrained sort of character, with medium fine grainy tannins, medium acid. Subtle oak. Softening out, but not fully developed. Maybe just missing a bit of magic, but a pretty nice wine otherwise. More cellar time will be fine if your cork is as sound as this one (wet no more than 20%).

I've had a handful of Dalwhinnie cabs over the years but have yet to be impressed. This is subdued but the palate has presence. Earthy berry fruits, glassy tannin and a sinewy blood / pinot-like finish to the fruits. Ultimately too austere to be of any real interest.

Nice, bit severe, well made, close to classic.

Great aged Cabernet. Starting to show its age a little. Perfumed and elegant. Oak starting to dominate. Drink in the next year.

Medium bodied with plum and blueberry flavours, but structure is fading and finish is little muted. Drink up.
