This vintage was disappointing. Previous years had more of a deeper mushroom or forest taste but this bottle was heavy on the berries. The initial sip is like drinking berry or grape juice. The body does improve after it airs out for a while. Probably would buy other malbecs going forward.

I don't like Malbec. All too often it produces a spicy, full, medicine flavoured wine that is no different to cheap over ripe shiraz. This one is different. Plum and spice aromas that are enticing and a finish that is all about smoothness and flavour. This wine has a healthy dose of smoke and blackberry that fades into smooth cherries on the finish. It isn't a world beater but it's pretty good.

color: eggplant purple; nose: lots of oak and plum; taste: bright, satiny smooth, soft, fruity full mouth feel and mid-palate, peppery plum short-duration finish with just a tinge of sourness; overall: pleasant and easy-drinking, attractive but typical, very good QPR ($10), would buy again and offer for BBQs and casual dinners -- a little tastier than High Note Malbec but not quite as yummy as Navarro Correas

Reviewing my prior notes, this wine seems to have soften it's rough edges over the past few months. This wine was not made for aging, but it's currently headed in the right direction...this may pull through to the "decent" category with another year in bottle...

Big dark purple. Not that aromatically interesting. Lush, juicy fruit on the palate. A little hot and one dimensional but enjoyable for the price and for fans of big fruity wines.

Plastic cork. Ruddy purple colour. Big Vanilla, blood, subtle camphor on nose. clean blood sausage entry with crisp finish. Lighter on the tongue (in a good way) than expected. Good QPR

popped and poured and tasted at a Restaurant and consumed with a Ribeye steak while out with 2 other couples. Relatively simple with Red fruit coming true. smooth drinker that was tasty and a crowd pleaser. Good value and pretty tasty.

Very dark color - purple all the way through. The nose is a bit hot straight out of the bottle but softens with time (30 minutes). The taste is overly grapey - it's all fruit. I can't quite tell if this was lightly oaked, not oaked at all, or is just too young to taste anything but the pure fruit flavors. Too sweet for my tastes, a bit too much acid, and too short of a finish. A decent value, but you can do better for $12.

A good Malbec for under $20, although I prefer the reserva at a price if $28. Went well withe lasagna and pork tenderloin.

Deep Purple in the glass. Dark fruity berries finishes with smoke. Nice everday quaffer for 10 bucks.

Extracted ripe and plummy, harsh and not really my style. Felt it was rather overdone and fake.

Not bad. A bit acidic. Rich berry taste, green forest floor, slight pine gum, good balance.

a decent wine that took a bit to open up. very rich berry taste, but needed to soften a bit. at $11 is a good wine to pop and pour otherwise.
