Jesus. This wine should NOT still be alive. And yet, it's still fresh. Okay, it's just a passetoutgrain, but, my god, this is a 13-year-old passetoutgrain that's still drinking gorgeously. I'm in love. Certainly mature, but not nearly close to retirement-- I would have guessed an '05! I'm just shocked that this bottle is still packing such a delectable punch. A real treat; doubt anyone still has bottles around, but if you do, drink up, you won't be disappointed!

Knockout Burgundy nose made brighter by the Gamay. Unfortunately, there was no follow through on the hollow palate. This wine has lost any intensity that it had and now comes off a bit boring. Okay, and better than your average Beaujolais, but once one gets past the nose it's very hollow.

Upfront rich fruit with earthy notes and stoney aspects. Currants and berries, slight watercress peppery notes and very clean finish. High in acid as well. Very well-rounded, though not complex. Absolutely perfectly paired with a rabbit-mushroom-butternut squash shepherd’s pie. Good by itself, great with dinner and cheeses.

Totally jazzed on how good this was. Solid fruit, a gamey-undertone and pretty textures. Really knocked it out of the park.

Very dense and dark, and a little oaky. Still young.
