Bright nose of fresh red berry, black currant, and a slight confectionary note. In the mouth this opens with sweet, simple red fruit. The finish is juicy and fleshy but lacks complexity. The tannins are soft and approachable. Very drinkable now, I doubt it has a long term future but should be fine for several years.

Now garnet in colour and showing signs of age. On the nose, there are tertiary aromas of leather, mastic gum, camphor, Rosemary, sous bois, faded rose petals, and dried fruits.Flavours of figs, and dried fruits and pomegranate mingle with surprisingly high acidity. Still a pleasant food wine but drink up.

Slightly green, quite acidic, herbal and some barnyard notes on the finish. Not very pleasant to drink. It might have been flawed, but the the last bottle wasn't much better. - 86 points

If you're looking for an easy drinking, medium bodied, charmer, you came to the right place. Not a lot of complexity, but there is a nice sensation of forest, tobacco and fresh red fruits, with a hint of thyme going on here.

This wine is a deep ruby in colour, with a medium -plus nose of dark cherries, blueberry/blackberry jam, stewed plums, rosemary, with hints of leather and pencil-shavings. Acidity is medium-plus, tannins medium and supple, and the finish a rather disappointing medium. The flavour is of dark cherries, and plums. All in all, this made for a pleasantly undemanding accompaniment to roast beef and red onion gravy. However, i found the wine to be lacking the grip one would expect from a relatively young claret. A pleasant food wine but definitely not a wine of contemplation!

An approachable but young Charmail with smooth tannins and fresh red fruits. Slightly green and herbal and some licorice, acidic red berry fruit, some vanilla but only little oak flavors. Not a very exciting wine, but well made. Good weekday-Bordeaux and one that needs food to unfold its best qualities. Drink or hold. - 87 points

Aged very well! Perfectly pairing with a good steak. Probably best before 2024.

Brown red color; plum and a little bit sweet, well-balanced with a good finish; creamy after 30min standing.
