Initially, this wine smelled like an oak barrel, which was not surprising given the 41 months of aging in french oak. Only had a glass or so on day 1 as the oak was a bit too dominant on the nose and palate. On day 2, this wine was much more balanced with cedar, blackberry and chocolate notes. The oak was still noticeable though less intrusive. Definitely a plush, forward style of cab franc that paired nicely with food (burgers and parmesan) and showed no signs of decline.

Their Cabernet Franc for me that takes the prize. Aged for 41 months in 50% new French Oak, and 50% old French Oak. Has a very floral bouquet. Get some good spices of cloves, pepper and vanilla notes. Good dark fruit and vanilla on the Mid-Palate. Lasting soft oak finish. This wine has outstanding structure. It has received an Outstanding Award of Excellence at the Seattle Wine Awards and Bronze Metal at the San Francisco Wine Awards in 2009. This wine for me bolts straight out of the gate and maintains the lead. If you are in the area go check them out. Drink a bottle now, and cellar the other.
