Still think this is ok everyday Spanish wine. A little light in color but very clear and bright. Flavorful and a little complex. Lacking body and much finish. Fell apart later in the evening.

Who put pinot noir in my rioja? Really, this tasted remarkably like a $12 pinot, not at all like a tempranillo. It was very light and thin, but if I had been given this blind, there is no doubt I would have identified it as a mediocre PN. Strange indeed...

think I paid $9 for this- Some rasberry on the nose with a beaujolais nouveau mixed in- Not really inspiring very light bodied there were points while drinking this wine it had a bizare mid palate and fairly acidic finish and other times the fruit carried through to make this an easy drinker- at its best an 84 and at its worst an 80- just an odd wine-Not consistant from sip to sip and would not rebuy this. If this was an 09 I would put it down to youth but being an 06 can not see anything better happening for it.

Lighter look and feel. Bright translucent red color. Lot of sour cherry and a little oak aroma and taste. Light to medium body. A little acid on the finish. Just ok, but really not bad for the price. Think I like the Montecillo Crianza just a little better.

Nose is fruity of strawberry and ripe plums. Mid palate is fruity and mild spice. Finish is vanilla and vanilla. Really stood out for me. Very smooth and silky. Pleasant and great every day wine. Would go great with spicy food as the vanilla would offset the heat.

Respi-aerate to decanter. Color ruby with a few dark tones, medium-light body, clear to center. Interesting nose has spicy seasoning in the foreground that kept reminding me of Ortega taco mix, a little candied strawberry, raspberry, smoke, and tobacco. On the palate there are largely tart flavors strawberries and raspberries, but a little sweetness mixed in too, as well as smoke, spice and earth. Medium-plus acid, mild frame of tannins. Seems a little thin in the middle. Finish was moderate, longer than expected, and had some nice tart red berries, minerals, earthy extract. Overall pretty tasty and seemed to smooth out once it was open for 45-60m. Pretty good value at 11.

Better than i remember again! Raspberries and a little chemical action. This is made in a lighter style. More in balance than past bottles. Not a wine to think about but a good weeknight bottle! I really enjoyed this.

this tasted more like a really cheap, bad grenache, not a tempranillo... tart, bitter cherry with some pepper... not good... kinda pissed I paid $11 for this.

possibly bottle variation, possibly shipping shock, possibly a little bit of time, who knows? This was much better than last bottle. Still on the mid weight to light side, but fresh and flavorful. Not too acidic. better with burgers than risotto.

Rich dark cherry red color. Slightly jammy strawberry nose with cedar notes. Bright cherry fruit on entrance, medium to light bodied, not much acid, a little bit of tannins, and a shortish finish. Decent, if somewhat thin, fruit flavor. Overall, a nice, easy drinking, uncomplicated, merlot-like wine. I'd drink it again.

Somewhat thin and generic. Night 1 (with decant) was overly acidic and unbalanced. Night 2 (no decant) was a bit better, better mouthfeel, more balanced (less acidity). Sorry not more detailed notes.
not crazy about this, but not totally hating it either. Would not buy again, but for $10 you win some and lose some. 81 first night, 83-84 second night

Respi-Aerate to decanter. Color medium-light cherry red, slightly cloudy, light-medium body. Light nose of twigs, smokey oak, a little cherry, and funk like the old shoes I wear to work in the yard. Relatively light sour cherry on the front and sides of the tongue, coarse tobacco and dirt on the back and in the throat. Finishes with sour cherry resin. Not awful, but not enjoyable either. I actually thought about opening a different bottle before pouring a second glass, and that's just not a good sign.

Thin and the flavor profile is not bright enough for my taste. Never tasted a tempranillo like this before. Maybe I'm clueless. Overall, I would not re-buy it.

Very serviceable and a good QPR. It is light, but flavorful. Classic rioja taste at this price is ok.
