Final Night in DC (Palena - Washington, DC): This was slow-ix'd for about 8 hours before dinner. This had an incredibly delicate, feminine profile with a potpourri-like nose of dried red florals, warm spices and dried leaves. The body had beautiful floral characteristics that were elegant and fresh. Overall, I enjoyed this very much - it was overpowered by some of the other wines at the table, but held its own and is an A+ 1er in my book.

Soft nose with slight violet aspect and iron edge. Very light in color and very, very light on the palate. Almost ethereal but having an underlying depth and persistence. All about edges and lines - fruit, iron, coffee-like, even sweet vodka. Band dessinée and elegant. Holds a very good bead for some hours.
Great pairing with veal porterhouse, french onion soup grits and green beans w/ a carob syrup sauce.

Drinking really nice with classic displays. Not as light as I would have thought, but really well balanced. I did not take notes while consuming as I was entertaining.

Very good, well-balanced and integrated. Soft aromas of violets and earth, a lot of acidic body. Short finish, but nice tannins. Should shake off some dustiness and be excellent.

Take my previous note and divide by half. All the pretty elements and elegance, but way too light and very quickly faded off to structure-less acid.
