An abandoned bottle given as a gift. Opened with a raised eyebrow given bottle age. Not flawed, just a bit candied. Actually less oxidation than expected given cork had soaked through. Yellow coloring, dried tropical fruit nose. Palate a bit heavy/syrupy but was served with hard cheeses and that worked out ok. Core flavors were sweet fruit, kind of like a gewurtz reduction. Drink yesterday!

Fine food match at a Thai restaurant. Classic g-w nose with lychees, rosewater, pot-pourri aromas. More musky qualities on the palate, faintly oily in texture, yet still with a refreshing acid cut, this nicely balanced wine is very gluggable indeed. 13% and quite ripe, with a dry if greasy finish. Can be kept longer if necessary.

Hard to see the colour in the low light! Nose of great typicity, with spice, roses, pot-pourri and musk - muted though. Dry on the palate, rich and warm, managing to be both acidic and somehow a little oily at the same time. Moderate length finish. A fair wine, but shaded by the better quality 'Tradition' and 'Hommage' labels further up Hugel's hierarchy. Went OK with the food, but hardly a revelatory experience.

From 375. Unctuous and rich, almost cloying, Auslese-like.

Disappointing wine. Not very complex or interesting.
